The Valemount and Area Recreation Development Association (VARDA) is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting community education and improving the backcountry experience for all user groups in the Valemount area. They manage a Sustainable Resource Management Plan (SRMP) covering territory from Horsey Creek to Blue River. VARDA plays a key role in overseeing recreational snowmobiling and mountain biking activities, including grooming, trail maintenance, and development. They emphasize rider education on ethical riding practices, wildlife sensitivities, safety, and backcountry stewardship. VARDA also focuses on expanding outdoor recreational activities in the valley to transform Valemount into a sought-after year-round recreation destination.
